Piave Mezzano is an Italian cow’s milk cheese named after the Piave River. DOP protected, it is made only in the Dolomites area of Belluno, Veneto. Piave DOP Mezzano has a smooth, even rind and a straw-yellow colour. It is aged for 60 to 180 days, during which time it develops a strong, pleasant, and mildly salty flavour. Its aroma is clearly reminiscent of milk and yogurt, while on the palate it is a highly soluble cheese. Excellent as a main course, paired with cooked or raw vegetables, or as a base for flavourful baked dishes. Delicious as is, or sliced into strips and used in salads or pasta dishes
